The University of Athens is the oldest
in Greece and is named after the first Governor of Greece
Ioannis Kapodistrias. It was founded in 1837 and it was
also the first University in the southeastern Mediterranean
area. The main building of the University is located almost
in the center of Athens and it's one of the most wonderful
buildings you can see (especially after it's renovation)
as you walking down Panepistimiou Street. All the faculties
and schools are spread around Athens but mainly most of
the schools buildings are located in the new University
Campus, found in the suburb of Ilisia.
